Filipino Pride; New Disney Princess Raya Showcasing Philippine Martial Art, Arnis!

The new Disney princess is here and she’s ready to kick some ass!
Walt Disney finally releases its teaser for Raya and the Last Dragon, the first Southeast Asian princess seeking the last dragon to save the world and to unite her people.
The teaser captures an action-packed intro where Raya is snooping around a cave where she comes face to face with a man guarding the dragon gem leading to a fight featuring Philippine's national martial arts, Arnis.
Filipino’s were so stoked upon discovering the martial art is getting the spotlight on the Disney animation.

But not everyone is delighted with the new film. Some are saying that it looks similar to Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra, which is highly popular on Nickelodeon that is also showcasing Asian cultures

Throughout the criticism received about Raya and the Last Dragon, people can’t deny that this new Disney princess is no damsel in distress! It is truly a glory that this animation will showcase the ancient tribal cultures in Southeast Asian countries.
